Who is Man Singh Tomar and why Man Singh Palace and For ??
Man Singh Tomar is King of Gwalior . He ruled for 30 years the fort has been contolled by a number of diffent rules in its history. The present day fort consists of defensive structure and two main palces, Gujari Mahal and Man Mandir , built by Man Singh Tomar (reigned 1486-1516 CE).

Raja Mansingh tomar married famous Gujari rani ‘Mrignayani’. Tradition has it that a queen, Mrignayni, was very beautiful and courageous woman who said no to veiling her face like other queens did and fought a few battles along with Raja Man Singh. After he had wooed her after promise to fulfill his three wishes she resided in a separate palace made exclusively for her, the Gujari Mahal and did not sit among other queens during ritual bathing or musical shows and go into each and every war and In 15th century Raja Man Singh Tomar built Gujari Mahal a monument of love for his Gujari Queen Mrignayani.

The second oldest record of “ Zero” in the world was found in a small temple , which is located on the way to the top the inscription is around 1500 years old.

The Mansingh Palace is mostly famous for Bhulaiya and Gujari Mahal but now a days the Gujari Mahal is converted into Gujari Mahal archaeologoical Museum and sometimes called the “ Gwalior Fort Museum”.
